Anna-Le Hornak recently attended the first annual Delaware Valley Deutschfest Competition in Jamison, PA. AnnaLe, a 9th grader, captured first place in Buchstabieren (German Spelling Bee) and second place in Vokabeln (German vocabulary contest), and Schriftliche Prüfung (written test).
Congratulations to the UM Wrestling Team who finished in 4th place at the District 1 South wrestling tournament.
Congratulations to Jake Ellis, Will Dill, Tim Santry, James Nicholson, and John Bolich, who will be moving on to the regional tournament on February 27 & 28th at Oxford High School. These five wrestlers have set another Upper Moreland school record for regional qualifiers .
Congratulations to swimmers (l to r) Pat McPeak and Natalee Szopo. Natalee, a PIAA District I Diving Champ, will advance to the state competition at Bucknell University in March. Pat will also advance to states having placed second in the boys diving. Congratulations for outstanding performances by Maggie Meade and JP Zarroli, who both placed in the top 5 at the District Championships.
Upper Moreland High School seniors (l-r) Sarah Harvey, Julien Dinerstein, Sindhuja Ranganathan, Patrick Kessock, and Colleen Boyle were recognized by Principal Dr. Robert Eckley as commended students in the 2009 National Merit Scholarship Program. They placed among the top 5% of students who took the 2007 PSAT qualifying test.

Senior Max Schubert was named Student Representative to the Upper Moreland School Board for the 2008-2009 school year. Max is a member of the Ski Club, National Honor Society, Student Council, Lacrosse Team, and Film Club.
