A Message from the Principal

Thank you to all of the Primary School families and friends for making this year such a wonderful success. I am very proud of the accomplishments that our teachers and students have made this year. I have watched the children grow into responsible and respectful students. The students have demonstrated a love of learning to read, write, and solve problems mathematically. As we prepare for our summer vacations, I want to remind our students to continue to practice reading. Summer packets for students going into 1st and 2nd grade have been prepared by our staff which will help your child practice and reinforce basic reading and math skills. The summer packets will come home on the last day of school in your child’s Wednesday envelope.
I would be remiss if I did not thank all of the wonderful parents that volunteered their time and efforts at the Primary School. Your time is greatly appreciated. Also, I want to thank the Home and School Association for their wonderful support. They were instrumental in planning many exciting events this year. I hope everyone has a relaxing and fun summer vacation. I look forward in seeing everyone in September. |
Author Visit
On June 5th, our students and staff will be visited by author, Lisa Funari Willever. Lisa has written several picture and chapter books, including Chumpkin which was chosen by former First Lady, Laura Bush as one of her favorites.
Currently, students at the Primary School are being introduced to Lisa’s work through read aloud and other enrichment activities. Mrs. Klein, our Librarian, will be sharing a book she has chosen with all the grades. Mrs. Brunner, our Guidance Counselor, will also be getting involved in the school-wide author study.
There will be an opportunity for students to pre-purchase books signed by the author before her arrival. These will be offered at a 20% discount and will only be available to order prior to her visit. Follow this link for the order form
It is always exciting when an author comes to share their craft and talent with our students. We are looking forward to Lisa Funari Willever’s visit. We are sure it will get us excited about our summer reading and writing. |
What do we do if our family will be moving out or within the Upper Moreland School District at the end of the school year or during the summer?
Contact your child’s school office as soon as possible. You will need to provide the office secretary with your new address and the new school name and address. The school secretary will then prepare the withdrawal paperwork which you will need to sign off on removing your child from the Upper Moreland School District rolls. The school secretary will also provide you with a copy of your child’s immunization record, a copy of your child’s last report card, and transfer card.
If you are moving within the Upper Moreland School District …. You will need to provide the school secretary with a newProof of Residency which will consist of a Property Deed, Mortgage Statement or current lease agreement. In addition one or more of the following must be presented: Internal Revenue Statement, current Bank Statement, Driver’s License, or current Utility Bill bearing the address on the Property Deed, Mortgage Statement or current Lease. If the parent is not the owner or lessee of the residence, a Multiple Occupancy Form must be completed and notarized. Multiple Occupancy forms are available at the Student Services office, 2900 Terwood Road, Willow Grove. |
Important Message from the Transportation Department

Requests for approval of specialized transportation of a student to an after school babysitter/daycare rather than the student’s home bus stop must be submitted for each school year.
The transportation department must have a completed form from a parent prior to transporting students to after school daycare/babysitting and the transportation must be five days a week. Students are not permitted to switch their dismissal bus.
For a specialized transportation form please call the Transportation Department at (215) 830-1525.
