UMIS Principal |
From the Principal As we come to the close of our school year at the Upper Moreland Intermediate School, I would like to thank you for your support and cooperation. It has been a year of change, a year of growth, and a year of learning. It has given me the opportunity to meet wonderful children, interested parents, and to work with old and new friends. While you and your children are enjoying the summer, please encourage them to continue on their journey of learning. Schedule time for reading, writing, and practicing math facts in a fun and relaxing manner. You have received our summer reading and math packet, which is designed to keep our children actively engaged and prepare them for the challenges of the next grade. Your support and supervision is greatly appreciated. As we prepare for next year, we have sent home the supply list for the upcoming third, fourth and fifth graders. The purpose of sending this list early is to afford parents the opportunity to take advantage of the early sales offered by local vendors. Class lists are finalized throughout the summer months. These class lists and room assignments are constructed carefully with the best interests of the children in mind, so please do not call the school office to request special assignments. We have a quality teaching staff here at the Intermediate School and requests for individual teachers will not be honored. As the summer months approach, I hope you and our children enjoy every minute of the summer break. It should be a time of relaxation, travel, and fun. I know many will spend leisurely hours on the beach or may travel to exotic, foreign places. Others will explore the many wonders of this local region. Wherever you are or whatever you encounter, I sincerely wish that your days are filled with sunshine and that you appreciate the beautiful sunsets that accompany the summer season. Dr. Joseph M.
